Red Cat

Project Title: Warfighter Electronic Bridge Global Control System Accessories

Project Summary: Red Cat Holdings, a military defense and drone manufacturer, partnered with this team to advance the development of Project Black Widow, a short-range reconnaissance system launched in October 2024. Designed for battlefield surveillance and intelligence gathering, the focus of this project was to enhance the system’s Global Control System (GCS), also known as the Warfighter Electronic Bridge (WEB). The team was tasked with developing three modular accessories to improve the WEB GCS’s field performance and efficiency: a Secondary Display Unit for presenting additional data, a Sunshade/Protective Cover to shield screens and reduce nighttime visibility, and a Direction Antenna System to extend the drone’s range. Each component needed to be lightweight, simple, and easily attachable or removable to meet the operational needs of military personnel in high-stakes environments. The designs also adhere to strict military standards as well as Red Cat’s manufacturing requirements, ensuring both usability and production feasibility. The result was a more versatile, operator-friendly control system capable of delivering real-time, actionable intelligence on the battlefield.
